At PHA we are combining physical adventure tasks, games and extended trips with seasonal and ecology related themes. This means students will be learning about themselves physically, emotionally and socially and also might be stimulated to learn more about ecological science and related fields.

K-6 Classes have 12 adventure cycles per year which is 3 per season (late summer, fall, winter and spring). Each cycle is 4 days long, for 40 minutes each day grades K-3 and 60 min each day for grades 4-6, rotating between grades every 3 weeks (This equals 12 classes per term/season). 7th and 8th Grade has a 1 hour block of Service-Adventure every Friday so they have 9 classes per term (ie 9 classes per season).
K-1During the early elementary years our Adventures follow the theme “Survival with senses and soil”.

2-3During the mid-elementary years our Adventures follow a theme titled “Changes inside and around me”.

4-5During late elementary years our Adventures follow a theme titled “Bodies, Behaviors and Biodiversity”

During pre-adolescence our “Adventures” follow a theme titled “Hero’s Journey – Navigation and Nourishment”.
